Sorority T-Shirts...

I have sooo many, and they are not going to be of much use to me after I graduate...this Friday! Anyway, I was thinking about what I could possibly do with them, because I don't want to throw them away, and I searched t-shirt quilts and ran accross this picture of a random example:

...Pretty cute, right? So I'm thinking this may be a great possibility. Does anybody have any other ideas? What did ya'll do with your old sorority tees?

I can't imagine not wearing my sorority Ts! They are like my dress code for going to class. I'm sure when I graduate I will be ready to part with most of them though. I think a quilt is such a cute idea, you should go for it and definitely post pictures if you do!

Almost 4 years later, mine are sitting in a rubbermaid tub. I still wear some of the event shirts to work out/sleep in, but all of the block lettered ones are packed away. Make that quilt now!!!

Making a quilt is a very cute idea! That way you'll always have something to remember your sorority days...and you'll stay warm :)

I'm with the "do a quilt" votes. I don't quilt (OMG, even the thought of that is so scary!) but i do buy fabric at a local quilt store and they have a number of tee-shirt quilts on their walls. They are just way too cool. I also heard someone talk about doing a tee-shirt blanket, I'm not sure how tho'.
And congratulations on graduation this Friday! That is such a big deal!

I wasn't in a sorority, but I did go to a women's college, and we had shirts for every event. I had my quilt made last year by www.tshirtquilts.com

You can see a pic here:

I didn't use anywhere near all of them, so I still have many that I still wear.

I think most made their way to thrift shops. But 10 years later I wish I made one of those quilts. It would be super easy to make and would be fun for movie watching.

TWELVE years later... (this I can't believe) I have a couple still with me, but most are at my parents house. Do the quilt!

Hey - I just found your blog. I actually am in the process of making a quilt out of all my old sorority shirts...it's quite an undertaking, as I don't sew and i have never quilted before. My mom is helping me and I'm using her sewing machine. I actually found a pattern for them (it was on oprah's website about a year ago).

Here's the link: http://tquilts.com
(you can order the pattern for like $8)
I have about 40 shirts and that's will make an xtra large quilt!! I can't wait till it's done...hopefully a few more weeks! yay!!

In my sorority we do pass downs where we give the younger girls all of the shirts and letters that we don't want . I know that I'll definitely do that with some of my shirts but there are some that I just don't think I'll ever be able to part with! The quilt idea is so adorable I am definitely keeping that in mind for next year when I graduate!

I just made my way to your blog from Little Southern Sister and I have been wanting to do a tshirt quilt since I graduated in December! I have a whole drawer AND a plastic tub dedicated to sorority ts and there's only about three that I wear regularly now! Please let me know if you decide to do it and share who you used!

Also, if you'd like an invite to read my blog, let me know!

I have SO many that I still wear, but I have even more (seriously, at least 60, and I have 20 that I wear) that could go into a quilt! When I move back to Dallas, my best friend (a master quilter) is going to help me make mine!
